ALCOSAN’s Rate Increase & Clean Water Assistance Fund

Hampton Shaler Water Authority currently bills for sewage while we read your water meter.  We pass these collected sewage monies on to your local municipality and to ALCOSAN and do not retain any of the money.

ALCOSAN has recently announced a planned rate increase schedule for 2018 through 2021 so that they can fund their infrastructure improvements to meet their Clean Water Plan.  In 2018, ALCOSAN will raise rates 7.5% and then 7% each year from 2019 to 2021.

To help low-income homeowners, ALCOSAN developed the Clean Water Assistance Fund for low-income homeowners. This fund provides a $30 credit each quarter ($120 a year) to help low-income families and individuals reduce their wastewater treatment bills. Dollar Energy handles the applications through a number of social service agencies throughout the region. Details of the application process are available at https://www.dollarenergy.org/need-help/pennsylvania/alcosan/
