About Hampton Shaler Water Authority

Hampton Shaler Water Authority (HSWA) was established by the merger of Shaler Township’s Water Department and Hampton Municipal Authority in 2012.  The organization has two primary goals: Public Health and Public Safety.  Ensuring the highest quality drinking water at every location throughout the service area (health) and sufficient water at each hydrant when needed by the local fire departments (safety).

HSWA is led by the Executive Director under the guidance and direction of the Board of Directors.  The Board, who acts as a unit, determine the rates, budget, rules & regulations, and policies of HSWA based on recommendations of the Executive Director, Solicitor, and Labor Attorney. The 5 (five) member board appointees are selected by Hampton Township (2 members), Shaler Township (2 members) and the fifth member alternates between the 2 communities.  The Board does not deal with the day-to-day operations of HSWA but meets monthly, typically the 4th Monday of the month except as advertised differently.  The Current Board Members are as follows: Timothy Rogers, Chris Lochner, Timothy Schutzman, Mark Mastandrea, and Adam Motchenbaugh.
